VBAC willingness

Mama and her family embarked on an extensive journey, traveling approximately 680 kilometers, with the primary goal of ensuring that she had the best possible chance for a successful Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC). This significant distance reflects not only their commitment but also their determination to seek out the right resources and support for this important milestone in her life. The decision to pursue a VBAC is often not just a personal choice but a deeply emotional journey that requires substantial preparation, both mentally and physically.
To prepare for this transformative experience, Mama completed the comprehensive online Hypnobubs course, which is designed to empower expectant mothers by teaching them techniques for relaxation, visualization, and self-hypnosis during labor. Recognizing the need for a more personalized approach, she opted to upgrade to a face-to-face private session with me. During this session, we engaged in a series of personal fear release meditations, which are crucial in helping mothers confront and process any anxieties or fears they may have regarding childbirth. Together, we sketched out a detailed birth map, a visual representation of her ideal birthing experience, which served as a guide to ensure that her VBAC aspirations were not only met but exceeded. This birth map included her preferences for labor, pain management options, and the presence of supportive individuals, all tailored to create an empowering environment during her birth.

In addition to these preparations, I offered Mama a fun and insightful draw from my set of pregnancy oracle cards, which can provide inspiration and guidance during this significant time. The card she drew featured a beautiful mandala and carried the message of "Willingness." This powerful concept resonated deeply with her purpose and intentions for the upcoming birth. Willingness signifies an openness to embrace the unknown, to let go of past experiences, and to trust in the process of childbirth. It encapsulates the essence of her journey towards a VBAC, highlighting her readiness to face challenges with courage and an optimistic mindset. This message not only aligned with her personal goals but also served as a reminder that the path to achieving her VBAC was one paved with both determination and a willingness to adapt and flow with the experience.
Here is her story...
She is here. Arrived at 3:30 am.
Labour started at 11:30pm and we got to the hospital at about 1:30 am at 8 cm dilated.
I feel I only got there because of the hypnobirthing and then I kind of lost it when we went to the hospital.
They (Hospital staff), broke my waters and we started pushing, your body really does know when to push. She got a little stuck and the vacuum was going to be used so they cut me (episiotomy) but then I must have given her more because she came out with no vaccum. Which I thought was good.
They stitched me up and we went to the ward.
Remi (we called her) is going well.
My milk is in and boobs are hugh. Just trying to feed on demand and let them settle. Hoping like f&*k I don't get mastitis.
Her weight is good and we should be able to go home on Monday.
